Unfurling the Banner of Peace
in Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi and Nuevo Leon

For those who love the Banner of Peace, it will be gratifying to know that a few weeks ago, one of the grandest Flags of Peace was created - a flag 75 feet in length (25 meters). It extended from one end of the stadium to the other in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, while four televisions screens showed thousands of children presenting the slogan, "Together We Build Peace". This program began two years ago when the President of the International Committee of the Banner of Peace, Dr. Alicia Rodriguez, handed over this symbol to the People of Coahuila, presenting it to the Governor of this State and his wife.

Today, 245,000 children apply what they have learned through the techniques presented in the book, "Transform Yourself into the Flag of Peace" by Panorama Editorial (email: pilarm@panorama.ed). Women have had a notable part in this effort supported by the Secretary of Public Education and the Institution for the Dignity of the Family.

Following the example of the State of Coahuila in Mexico last November 29th, the states of Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi, and Nuevo Leon got together to receive the Banner of Peace, from Alicia Rodriguez, including 70 institutions who are members of the International Lions Club and who contribute a great service to their communities. The ceremony, both emotional and respectful, elevated the consciousness of the participants and their understanding, regarding the urgency in these times to live in peace and harmony.

In the same manner, for the past 18 years, the International Committee of the Banner of Peace has carried out this ceremony of handing over the Banner of Peace to various other countries such as Russia, India, the United States, Colombia, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Espana and Mexico. There has been a notable change of consciousness among the participants, who through the strength of their heart feelings have reached a fiery world of higher consciousness.
