"Perfection of Public Relations in XXI Century"

November, 26-27, 2004

From November, 26 till November, 27 this year in Poltava took place the conference which was organized by

• Poltawa's Roerich's society "Radela" (Vladimir Lobach).
• Poltava's Community of Public Organizations,
• Poltava's Regional Institute of Pedagogical Education,
• Poltava's State Center of the Scientific, Technical and Economic Information.

Many teachers, science officers and the representatives of various public organizations including Roerich's organizations from Lugansk, Crimea, Dnipropetrovs'k, Kirov, Poltava have gathered by this conference.

In the first day of conference were given twelve lectures. After the first day of conference the participants of conference have accepted the Resolution. In the second day of conference was organized the Round Table. At this round table was discussed the problems of the Roerich's movement. Discussion has been started with the announcement of "Ethical Code of the Roerich's movement". At this Ethical Code have joined already 15 Roerich's organizations from Russia and Ukraine. The member of society "Radela" V.N.Doroshenko said that this Ethical Code is one of ways of the decision of ripened problems in the Roerich's movement.

At the Round Table has reported also chairman of Dnepropetrovsk Roerich's societies "Orion-M" I.J.Tereshchenko. He has told about the problem of the H.P.Blavatsky's house-museum in Dnepropetrovsk where she was born. The Ukrainian authorities refuse to recognize this house as a historical monument. Also he has told about the problems of Roerich's school which director he is. I.J.Tereshchenko has said that it is a lot of problems for the Roerich's school creates the deliberate harmful activity of Ukrainian branches from the Moscow's International Center Roerichs (ICR, Moskau, Russian Director L.Shaposhnikova, Ukraine Director V.Kozar).

Below we give the final decision of this Round Table.

about the problems in the Roerich's Movement

Participants of conference have discussed a situation in Roerich's movement. <…> After that they have understood that the opponents of evolution have organized an opposition inside of Roerich's movements, therefore has gone down the image of Roerich's movement and its authority in our society. Except for that there is no joint work for the Common Welfare. The reasons of such situation are following:

• Non-observance of high ethical standards in mutual relations between the Roerich's organizations.
• Passivity of the Roerich's organizations in the public life.
• Absence of necessary culture in Roerich's societies.
• Insufficiently knowledge about other Roerich's societies.
• Intervention of one Roerich's organizations in activity of others Roerich's organizations.

Participants of conference have discussed the reasons of unsatisfactory position and a way of a possible exit from this position. They also declared the following items:

• Main aims of Roerich's movement are the activities that help for new evolutionary thinking. Participants of conference are against for bringing down of main aims of Roerich's movement to the protection of the separate organizations.
• The Roerich's society should not work for them selves. They should more actively participate in a life of a society. The Roerich's society should cooperate with others Roerich's society.
• Nobody can make a complaint to names of the Roerich's organizations and their symbolics if these organizations were registered according to the current legislation.
• The sign of the Banner of Pease is one of the most ancient symbols of mankind as "cross" and "star". The Banner of Pease also is the standard symbol of the worldwide Roerich's movements. Everyone Roerich's organization has the full moral and legal right to use this Banner of Pease as a sign of Trinity. The conference expresses confidence that Russian "Rospatent" according to the law will take into account all objections and the facts about the world prevalence of the Banner of Pease. Participants of conference hope for the decision of "Rospatent" on a cancellation of registration of the Banner of Pease as a trade mark.
• The Ethical Code of the Roerich's movement, shows ideological aims of the Roerich's movement and can be a basis of relations between the Roerich's organizations. Everyone Roerich's organization incurs the obligation to execute the Ethical Code if it has accepted this Code.

Participants of the conference have decided to make the following actions which should help to meet the crisis in the Roerich's movement:

• The Poltava Roerich's society "Radela" should send the letter about inadmissibility of registration of the Banner of Pease and words "Urusvati" to the foreign patent office.
• On behalf of conference the Poltava Roerich's society "Radela" should address to the foreign Roerich's organizations with the request about the sending the letters with the protests against patenting of Roerich's symbols to the Russian "Rospatent".
• The Poltava Roerich's society "Radela" should address the letters about the protection of the H.P.Blavatsky's house to the Minister cabinet of Ukraine.

At the end of conference participants have stated the initiative about creation of Association of the Roerich's organizations. It is offered to discuss this initiative in the Roerich's societies, and then to exchange the opinions about this idea between others Roerich's societies.
